Straight Goods named Globe and Mail site of the week
We're so proud we could just burst at our digital seams! Straight Goods has been selected as Globe and Mail's site of the week. In his article, which was published March 9, Globe writer Simon Tuck featured highlights of an interview with publisher Ish Theilheimer, noting that Straight Goods works in "the tradition of Utne Reader and The Drudge Report" and we are "making a bid to become a popular, alternative source of 'news you can use'."
Tuck confirmed what we've known all along, that our site's "most impressive development" is our "ability to attract solid journalists and a few well-known names, including filmmaker Michael Moore, economist Jim Stanford and columnist Michele Landsberg." He then offered us some business tips, advising that our "success hinges on carving out an identity apart from... on-line competitors", which, as our regular readers know, is something we strive to do every day.
