We're not usually rocket junkies, but NASA's attempt to punch a hole in comet Tempel 1 is intriguing.
Ever try to hit a snowball with a snowball...? At a range of about 80 million miles... ...? That is what NASA will try to do on July 4.
Tempel 1 poses absolutely no danger of striking earth, whether or not NASA hits its target. But you can just bet there will be more spin placed on this story than you'll find in a barrel of gyroscopes.
